Bizzare Contact

Bizzare Contact was one of the highlights of 2004, delivering high quality melodic full on and playing at parties all around the world. After releasing a lot of tracks under different labels and an album through their home label Com.Pact Records, now hes releasing the Visual Contact album in collaboration with DJ BOG, also known as Visual Paradox.

fullonline: Who is "Bizzare Contact", where are you from and what is your musical background? Why you choose this name to your project?

Bizzare DJ Set Bizzare Contact: First of all, hi everybody, Bizzare Contact is me (Didy Ezra) 20 years old living in Ramat Gan, Israel. I grew more on a POP / HOUSE / R&B; background, which I enjoy listening even today... got into the psychedelic scene because of 3 artists (Yahel, The Musses Rapt & Infected Mushroom). The name Bizzare Contact was chosen before when I started to work with my ex-partner Kfir Lankry (a.k.a Phanatic) because the connection between me and him, was really a Bizzare Contact.

fullonline: Are you married and/or have kids?

Bizzare Contact: Im not married and for now dont have any kids (Maybe some that I dont know around the world ;) if someone want to tell me something - this is the right time hehehe...). and if I find the right girl for me, then I will be more then happy to marry and start to build up my own family.

fullonline: Can you keep a comfortable lifestyle working only as a psychedelic artist or a second job is needed?

Bizzare Contact: To tell the truth, I didnt have a comfortable lifestyle before I went into this business, this is what got my life fixed - and for now, without talking to much and open people's eyes, I dont need a second job Im living in a really nice apartment by myself in the middle of Israel, with my own purchased studio.

fullonline: What is on your CD Player right now?

Bizzare Contact: Now on my cd player I am listening to some new stuff like Sesto Sento, Electro Sun, E-Jekt, Shanti, Xerox & Illumination, Eskimo, Oforia & more.

fullonline: A lot of people want to know why you and Phanatic split. I think its positive, because now we have two projects instead of only one. What are your opinions about it?

Bizzare Contact: I knew we gonna go into this question, the only thing I can tell u is that me and Kfir are good friends now, we decided together that I will go on with the project, and Kfir will open his own new project, and just for the record, everything was done only from professional considerations.

fullonline: Which one of your own tracks do you like the most? Does it have a special meaning to you?

Bizzare Contact: Is hard to say, cause really I like them all (if I didnt liked it, I was not making it hehehe), but... Love Simulation, Run Away, Seven Days, MTV & Tierra Magica were really special ones from the beginning to the end.

fullonline: What other music style do you listen to?

Bizzare Contact: I listen almost everything, and I mean everything except "Dicaon" (Hebrew Cryers Music HEHEHEHHEHE...).
From House to Techno to Pop to R&B; to Electro to Metal, etc, etc... It helps me keep my mind open, and updated.

fullonline: What Psytrance Artists would you like to work with?

Bizzare Contact: I will be happy to work with any artist, and I mean any artist as long as he will open something in my brain that couldnt open by myself (Sound, Technics etc...).
If you wanna talk about specific artists, I can tell you it will be a super pleasure to work with: Infected Mushroom, Astrix, GMS, Shanti, Xerox & Illumination & many more...
And I enjoyed working a lot with: Astral Projection, Visual Paradox (Visual Contact), Electro Sun, Sesto Sento, Dali, Alternative Control, Ultravoice, Shift, Dooper Doopler, System Nipel, Mahamudra & Alots more...

Bizzare Party

fullonline: Is there any equipment you think can help you produce better music?

Bizzare Contact: For sure that there is a lot of hardware and software that can be really useful (Access Virus, Tc PowerCore, UAD-1), but I recommend first of all to touch everything u can... and I mean - got a new VSTi ? dont just open and test the presets - this is not the point - touch every single button in this device, try every effect u have - be crazy & special, this is the only way to success !

fullonline: Do you prefer to play at parties at any specific time?

Bizzare Contact: Everything is depends in the party Im in it - in indoor parties I prefer go and play on 3:00 am - 4:00 am usually, outdoor party's - I like to catch the sunset in my LIVE ACT, specially with my melodic sound - I can bring to people a happy morning, full of good vibes.

fullonline: How do you choose the samples of your tracks? What is your favorite one?

Bizzare Contact: To choose samples to the music is the funny part, sometimes I start tracks in some direction only because a sample I found or heard, and sometimes I put a sample after the track is done - and it really brings him a new story. Usually I choose them by the story of the track like I have in my FREEDOM track.
My fav, is funny but - is the really small sample in SEVEN DAYS track, that says:

"To The Edge Of This World...", together with this melody - a perfect harmony!

Visual Contact fullonline: Tell us about Visual Contact, your new project with DJ Bog. The album just got released and is already being played a lot here in Brazil... How is it to work with such an experienced guy as Bog? Whats your favorite Visual Contact track? How do you see the differences between your projects?

Bizzare Contact: The work with gady is really special - we have a special thing between us, cause I came from the more Melodic Sound, and BOG as u know came from the Psychedelic One, so our project combines both of those styles - into a really special one.
My favorite Visual Contact track is "Dreamland", that balanced the CD in the middle between the Psy side to the Melodic side.

fullonline: How it is to work Com.Pact Records right from the start?

Bizzare Contact: I was blessed to get connected with this amazing Family, cause COM.PACT is my second house, is more then a label. Im very satisfied from all the sides - from the professional part, till the "after work hours" that we are like a big family and not like a CO-WORKERS that have only business relationships.

fullonline: What are your future releases, and what are the labels you're currently working with? Should we expect a second Bizzare Contact album?

Bizzare Contact: For sure u should expect the second BIZZARE CONTACT album, in march 2006, it will hit the Shops - and I promise to all the fans to keep the Bizzare Style, Super Happy & Melodic ! Compact Crew

fullonline: What do you think about people sharing music through mp3 instead of buying it?

Bizzare Contact: You are asking a complicated question here, from one side I think is the future - I think is more then good to share music, so it can get to ppl that couldnt go and by the CD's, and it gives the artist a world promotion that no one could make. From the other side is bad, sometimes tracks are stole from artists and putted on the net, just for ppl passions to bring "NEW KILLERRR MUSIC" and to say "IM HAVE ALL THE NEW KILLERESSSS" and really destroy the scene. Have the bad part about hurt the CD selling to, but this is a different story, so ;) lets not go into this now...

fullonline: How do you make your Live Acts? What equipment do you use in your Live Acts? You play music from both your projects? Most unreleased or released tracks?

Bizzare Contact Live Bizzare Contact: For Live I use my Laptop (AMD Athalon) with Ableton Live 4.0 & Edirol MIDI Keybord. I usually ask from the party promoters to bring one of this synths: Access Virus B/C/Indigo, Clavia Nordlead 2/3 or Korg MS2000.
For each live I choose the Music, by the country I go to play at. As exemple - if Im going to Brazil or Mexico I will make my live more Powerfull, if Im going to Europe (Portugal, Germany etc...) I will make my live more psychedelic and serious, and for Japan is a Super Melodic LIVE. ;)
And for your question - For me it doesn't matter Released or Unreleased Its MUSIC!

fullonline: You prefer to play a DJ set or a Live Act? Why?

Bizzare Contact: I prefer to play LIVE for sure, but for this - u need a special party with a good vibe, and I really like to play DJ Sets to... so my answer for u is: BOTH !

fullonline: In your DJ sets you usually play tracks from which other artists?

Bizzare Contact: I play in my DJ Sets, like 80% COM.PACT music, If its my music, or Sesto Sento, Ultravoice, Aquatica, Visual Paradox and is not because Im in COM.PACT, is cause I really feels its a good & quality one.
I enjoy to play music from: Astrix, Infected Mushroom, Xerox & Illumination, GMS, Sub 6, Electro Sun, Shanti, Wrecked Machines, Eskimo, Dino Psaras, Void, X Noize, Oforia, Space Cat, Pixel, Delirious & Much More...

fullonline: What makes a good party? Do you think decoration is important?

Bizzare Contact: Want to hear the perfect formula for a perfect party? For me is:
Happy People
Quality Sound System
Good Vibe, Music & Decoration.

fullonline: What do you think people should do to make a better scene? Any visions about the future?

Bizzare Contact: The scene is getting bigger, less underground more commercial... in 5 years from now, I guess that Psy will be a Huge Scene - same as House / Techno, and even bigger.
How to make it better? Just be happy, and keep smiling so other ppl can see is not only a drugs scene, and that we have a lot of happiness in it.

fullonline: How long does it take for you to make a new track, from the ideas and inspirations to the dance floor? Any hint for a person who is starting making psytrance?

Bizzare Contact: It depends at the moment, I can make track in 6 hours and I can make a track in 1 Month. Is all about the inspiration and the ppl around you, your feelings and more subjects like your mood etc...
And for the ppl who start to produce - only two words - BE ORIGINAL!
Dont do what has done before... You dont want to be one more regular psy artist.

Bizzare DJ Set

fullonline: What is your favorite psychoactive molecule?

Bizzare Contact: I dont have a favorite psychoactive molecule because I dont use drugs, I didnt use them before and I dont think I will use them in the near future. :D
But I dont think is a bad thing, I think is a really nice thing when u know how to control it and dont be depended on it... in other words - can breath without it :D .

fullonline: We all know that all kind of weird stuff happen at psychedelic gatherings. Can you tell us something different/funny that you saw or happened to you in a party?

Bizzare Contact: Hehehehehe... When I read the question I remembered a lot of things that happened to me - like all the ppl that coming to u with the mouth hehehehe stuck from the extazi ;) and trying to tell u something and it sound like: "blablabla ayayayay blwwb ayyaya blabla" hehehhe :D and ppl getting out the ISRAEL FLAG in the middle of the party... and Big POSTERS hehehe with funny sentences...
